Front springs project...alignment?

I have a 1989 F150 4x4 that I've had for about 3 years, and it's finally starting to get to where I want it. It has the original front springs that I'm planning to replace. I've already purchased a pair of Moog CC820 springs and a set of Monroe Gas-Magnum shocks (mine has the quad-shock option). The springs that I've purchased (I am told) should give it about 1.5 to 2 inches of extra lift to level it out a bit.

Here's my question...I've heard two different opinions on this. One is that this won't affect my camber enough to worry about alignment after installing them, and the other is that I'll have to change the camber bushings to a different type (the ones on there now are new) and have it re-aligned. Who is right?

Doubt the 820s will lift it 2" unless the front is really sagging. I have the 824s and it lifted my 94 about 1.5" and I absolutely needed new camber bushings.

I'd plan on aligning it. Cheaper than new tires.

I agree with BLDtruth. If you change springs, your gonna need an alignment.

Appreciate the advice on the alignment. It's kind of what I thought, but I wanted to hear it from here first.

As far as the springs go, if you look at the picture, it doesn't sag. It has the stock slope toward the front end that I want to get rid of. I was thinking about 824s because that's what my friend used, and he also has a 94. Then I found out from a guy at the local suspension shop (where I bought them) that the 89 body has less weight in the front end, plus mine is a 5.0 and his is a 5.8, which makes a big difference. He assured me that the 820s will do the trick. I'll see how they compare when I get the old ones out and make a decision then.

I went to CC844 springs four years ago, although mine is a 5.8 (not much heavier, 50lbs?) & supercab (much heavier). It brought the front end up 1.5" and never bottoms out any more when wheeling. Might be a little high rate but suites my needs.

Absolutely need to align after that. Not only will tires wear fast but the handling would not be fun.

I have the old springs out now. BLDtruth is right about the CC820s...they're pretty much the same as what I took out. It isn't that expensive of an upgrade, so I think that I'll try the 822s first. 844s would definitely be too much for my truck. My buddy's truck is an extended cab, and he used 824s and got about 1 3/4" difference. I'm not planning to put on a winch bumper, or anything like that either. I don't want to go too firm and end up sacrificing ride.
