Driveline question

My boss just got me a 2002 F450 service truck. The driveline slip joint is very tight. It compresses while the truck is going down the road, but it's too tight to extend. The front half of the driveline ends up grinding against the carrier bearing. I have to pull over and hammer on it to separate it. I took it apart and greased the splines. It is still tight and not working right. The male shaft has the blue plastic coating. The female side has a wide groove in it. I could not find a "special" spline on the male end. The truck recently had the frame shortened, and the front part of the shaft was shortened, and the female yoke on it looks new. Any ideas will be welcome.

Maybe the driveshaft wasn't shortened enough.
