My 2012 f250 6.7 has been sitting for a couple days and I go outside and the lights are on with the switch in the off position and the truck will not start or anything the batteries are way low but what would cause the lights to come on by themselves?
Hmm, sharing ideas: door partially shut with wind pushing it around might cause it to think you are constantly opening a door? Or kids playing with spare keys? Or a module is going out? I really don't know, nor have I read anything like this, but am curious.
Maybe there is a solenoid or relay somewhere acting weird because the voltage is so low. I would disconnect the batteries to get the lights off and then put a charger on it and see what happens after you charge it (them).
I had a weird electrical issue with my '09 6.4L F350 the week after I got it (new). I came out to start it one morning and it was dead. Like no juice at all. I didn't leave anything on. I had automatic headlights and all that stuff. I put the battery charger on it for 24 hrs. After which it started up fine. I took it to the dealer so they could test it and everything was fine. I never had another electrical issue until one of the batteries died after about 4 years. I replaced both and kept on going. Still, that gremlin never came back.
