Is '88' 5.0 a Roller ?

Here is part of their answer : "Your engine is already equipped with a roller compatible block,but uses a flat tappet cam.Should you wish to convert to a roller cam, you will need to purchase the Ford Racing Part # M-6253-A50 Roller Cam Conversion Kit and the Ford Racing Part # M-6500-R302 Roller Lifters. These can then be used with your choice of roller cam." Since your truck's 302 is a 1991 you have a roller block, fitted with the same flat tappet cam that was O.E.M. for my 1990's 302. A pevious owner put an aftermarket(flat tappet...) cam in it,but I don't know it's exact specs. You might call Ford Racing,or write to them at : Ford Racing Performance Parts, 44050 N. Groesbeck Highway, Clinton Township, MI.48036-1108. Make sure you tell them your truck's model year, engine sizes, and the changes you want to make. They'll be able to give you way better advice then I could.You to get your started on your "shopping list" prices for part #s M-6253-A50 & M-6500-R302 are $59.99 & $140.00,respectfully. All camshaft specs mentioned are with 1.6 ratio rocker arms. Good luck with your project.
