Just got a quick question, i apologize if it seems a little stupid but this is me first truck, and im still learnin as I go. so I ordered a new LED kit for use in the dash on my truck and replaced 3 of the bulbs with the LEDS without issue. Because the LEDs are polarized they only worked one way and not if flipped. The bulbs I replaced i got working by flipping the LEDs until they worked with the dash and indicators turned on. Trouble is, im reluctant to change the remaining bulbs as theres a 50/50 chance they might not work because of the polarity on the LEDS if replaced incorrectly, and i dont want to run the risk of having these lights indicating an issue but me not knowing about it. So my question is, how do I force activate these lights and if thats even possible? As i need to force em on so i can swap in the leds and make sure theyre in correctly unless theres a better way to do this all together??
I would use a multi meter to figure out the power side and ground side of each socket. Make a mark on ground side of each socket for example. You might be able to follow the printed circuit without a meter if you know which route the ground is following. Then install accordingly. Some meters have a diode setting I think could be used to check polarity of the LED.
