just had an odd issue...
hopped out of the truck, ran into the store. came back and went to start the truck, it would just crank briefly and stop. it did this a couple times, then finally cranked and started like normal.
also the light dimming gauge was on and the cluster was on the my key screen, i never have it on that screen.
also the other day the shifter would not come out of park, said no key detected (i have police mode enabled).
could this be a sign of a dying fob battery? any thoughts?
thanks
Could be, to be safe I'd change the battery. Or it could just be one of those things that happens with these overly electronic trucks. I couldn't get my remote start to work for three days last week. Then one day it just decided to start working again. Electronic gremlins.
Doesn't the fob have a slot like most cars with only a fob that you slide it into to charge the battery?
The Intelligent Access fob takes a CR2032 battery, it's not rechargeable. Interestingly enough, according the manual, the information display will alert you if the fob battery is low. Good to know, as this is why I didn't enable Police Mode for fear that a dead fob battery could leave me stranded.

replaced the battery in the fob, will see if that was the problem.

Isn't there a place to put the fob and bypass the RF, so it will still start if the battery is dead?
however, I now have a MIL (code 203B) that came on today. And, several times upon start-up today, the “service brake system message” pops up on the dash at start-up. It disappears right away and the brakes seem fine, no abs light.
