Can anyone tell me where the fuel pump relay is on a 1977 f150 4x4 400cu in
was putting my boat in on a very steep ramp and while unloading noticed a change in engine idle from smooth to rough then it died and would not start again. I had to get towed up to level ground almost no fuel in the inline fuel filter and I am guessing it is the fuel pump as today running down the road it began missing cutting out and almost died. It recovered and I made it home. I figured I would change the inline filter and check the relay but can't seem to locate it. Thanks for the help.
Your truck came with a block-mounted mechanical pump. If somebody has added an electric fuel pump, there's no telling where the relay is. In fact, it's entirely possible that the electric pump is wired directly to an ignition hot.
My F350s have relays for my fuel pumps, and they're mounted on the driver's side fender, near the auxiliary battery
If your pump is wired to an ignition hot, the most likely place is the three position yellow triangular receptacle behind the dash
