Has anyone at all had luck when ordering a truck and selecting the ultimate package will the salesmen allow you to opt out of something that comes with that package? I know on the website you can't but I was wondering if you can with the dealer since I was told by you guys that they order buy highlighting what you want on a order guide.
like say I want a couple features that are ultimate exclusive but don't want this one feature that comes with it... can said feature be removed? Or am I stuck paying for something I do not want?
I just picked up my custom order. When I ordered it the dealer seemed to only have the same options as the website. Not sure they can override default selections.
You can't pick and choose options that are already set up in the order guide and on the "Build and Price" guide a certain way. B&P is pretty accurate. There are a couple defects, but it nailed my order perfect.
I agree with the above lol. Order it this week and get it over with!! Just get every option, that way you wont accidentally miss anything. But no, if its a set package, you get the whole package. Its a manufacturing thing, they cant deviate from what the package offers. With all the orders they do, it would be too difficult to nit pick different options for people and run an efficient assembly line. Ultimate or not is the deal, just get the ultimate, nothing to regret.
Too be honest, this is my first Ford and first time I have driven anything with the adaptive steering. I don't notice anything. If I didn't know it was there already, I wouldn't have noticed it. If it's something you are worried about, don't, it is really nothing.
See page 129 in the owner's manual; that's why I don't want the adaptive steering. It relies on an electric motor in the steering column to actually turn the wheels and sensors to determine which way the wheels should be pointing. If those components experience a failure, you cannot drive the truck. Search on some of the Edge forums where this technology made its debut. Not exactly trouble free.
I will stick with the regular steering.
