2012 F250 XL 6.2L, 4WD, CCSB, 3.73 and e-locker.

2976 lbs. Surprised me when I saw how low this was as compared to the others posted on here so far.

Thumbs up

I don't have the a pic of the old truck's sticker. However, its GVWR was 8,800 lbs, so the payload was well under 3K.

From a macro perspective, the trucks are quite different, especially when considering there are so many similarities (CCSB, 2WD, gas, etc.):
  • The 6.2 is much more powerful than the old 2V 5.4
  • 6-speed AT vs old 4-speed AT
  • The 6R140 AT is tighter than the 5.4 version of the 4R100 (loose torque converter)
  • New truck has electronic locking diff; never really liked the old F250's limited slip diff
  • New truck has traction control...already put it to use backing out of an oddly articulated driveway
  • MUCH stiffer chassis
  • Great brakes (not "breaks") on new truck
  • The new truck's AC works! I had to modify the F250's mixing circuit
  • Instrumentation MUCH better
  • Old truck had virtually no modern connectivity
  • Yeah, we're pretty happy with the new F350!
Regards,
Jim / crewzer

Wow 4478 in a 2017 F-350 Lariat, SC, LB, 4x4, Magnetic, 6.2L (llblake64).

That is a somewhat unusual configuration but what a payload.

Is the CC that much heavier than the SC?

I currently have a 2010 F150 SC, LB with the HD package, payload is 2127 which is almost as much as many F250s. I was thinking a CC for my next truck but I am usually the only person in the truck, and my payload fetish and truck camper fantasies are saying "get the SC, LB".

Spent a lot of time figuring out exactly how I wanted it to give us everything we wanted and maximize payload. We'll be carrying a truck camper and pulling our Jeep on a steel deck trailer.

By my estimation the CC will take away about 200lbs of payload. The diesel will take away about 800lbs. On the 18in wheels you want the All Terrains to get the best rear axle rating.

Seems like you did a great job to get what you need. If you could post your configuration or window sticker and photos of the truck/camper/trailer that would be great.

I suppose my 'limbo' state invalidates my post a bit, but I'm pleased with my payload given the options my truck has. Truck in signature.
