ranger question

ok on my 96 ranger xlt 3.0L 5speed not 4X4 ,the trim pece that goes around the raido and the airvents had just the lighter in it, bought a used one (screwd the orignal one up painting it) but this used one has a extra 12v plug on the right side, dosent seem to be a wire over there that connects to it so how would i wire it in? thanks for any help

Its just a power point receptacle. A simple fused 12v power source, wire, connector and ground is all you need. Center pin is hot, outer pin ground

You can use the lighter if you wish, as long as it is a fused 12V and the load of both devices used at any one time doesnt exceed the rating of the circuit.
