I do not think this has been brought up before. Anyone know of a K9 crate that can be taken in and out of the back (inside) with the seat up or down? The usual pet cages are not big enough for both dogs and two cages will not fit.
we travel with our dogs and they travel crated. These dogs have been involved in a sport. They have high drive and allowing them free range in the back is not an option. They could destroy the interior if someone approached the truck.
My service dog rides in the back with the seat folded up. It is crazy how much room is back there. I have a double dog box for the back of the truck if my springer comes along. I would say you would not have any problem finding a large box which will fit in the back seat. The removable part is the tough part. That's where you may need to go with a custom fabrication.
I have not see anything that is removable and as you described. That said if you are not against a semi perminate install, maybe a custom toolbox style crate that attaches to the bed, and can be removed when not needed?
Sorry I don't have pics to share but a solution I used back in the day for my Nissan Titan Crew Cab.
I used two of these cages back to back and removed the back pieces or partitions essentially grafting two cages into one large cage. This setup allowed me to be able to load/unload the dogs from either side of the truck, still utilizing the doors of each cage at each entry.
Hopefully that makes sense.
Thanks. I am hoping to find similar for in the cab. I use something similar to what you use in my expedition. Just when the dogs go, the cab over camper is on.

It does make sense. If I could find two to fit side by side, It may work. I wish they made it wider, so both dogs in one crate.
I have a couple of those type. One requires some modifications, because ranger is an escape artist. He gets out of those fairly fast.

The rear floor of the new SD was a selling point. For years when looking at trucks on of the first things I check is the back seat are for the dogs. When the 150 came out like that I saw the potential, but my camper would squish a 150.
The Expedition worked great when going to Schutzhund (dog sport) training and events. A good crate where the back of the truck could be left open for ventilation and such.

Beautiful dog by the way!
Thanks, Ranger is my buddy for sure. Looks like I may be making one. They make killer ones for our Expedition. Short trips they ride it it. When the camper goes on, it's the back seat.
Funny what you do for your dog. The Expedition was picked for them rear air and such and the flat rear floor of the SD along with it's rear a/c was too.
I have Rough Tough Kennels and can put either 2 Intermediates in my rear seat of the crew cab on the seat, or on the floor with the seat folded up, or a Large and an Intermediate back to back on the seat.
Great kennels. I have them both in the house and in the truck.

I will do some measuring for these for sure. If I can do two back to back, that will defensively work

I totally get it, my two Maxx and Emma have a Superduty reserved for when they go with me. I don't know if I would be here today if it went for them. Used to have a crown Victoria from the CHP with the k9 cage in the back..now they ride in the back of the truck cab with the seats removed and a cage installed in the truck.
Does "the dog" live on a golf course, or is that your back yard? We have a German Shepherd and a Silver Lab, both pups (less than a year). This is the reason I had to buy a CC and not a SC, my wonderful wife wanted the doggies to have back windows that rolled down and not just swung out. SPOILED MUCH?
