I have to say thank you to all you guys.
I like to research stuff and you made it so easy. I knew the truck, gears, configuration and all prior to this forum, but as I added on goodies, explored possible fuel mileage, the info on here is great.
I found the perfect bed cover that works well when my camper went on, the right mud flaps, the heads up on camper fitment, the custom letter inserts and on and on.
Then there is the heads up on adaptive cruise experiences, LED lighting and so much more.
So here is MY leveling kit. A 3400 pound cab over.
the back dropped 2 1/2 inches and the front went down 1/4 inch. Suspension is stock. Has camper package and plow for heavier front springs for my winch (to be added when I find a bumper I like).
This camper on my 2001 350 SD had me 1000 lbs over weight. Now I can collect rocks when I camp!
Have you seen the old movie with Lucille Ball, "The Long Long Trailer"? You might want to if you collect rocks.
LOL yeah I remember that. That's why I say that. Now I have to get to work on the hitch extension so I can bring along my car hauler.
And the hardest modification I have to do yet is the dog crate in the back. The flat floor in the back was a big plus for me. I want to build it wide in the back for both dogs and so they can enter from either side.
I have shopped K9 crates, but nothing like what I want. Need to fit two German shepherds
What are your plans for a hitch extension that can carry the weight of a car hauler?
First off my car hauler is a 2400 lb tandum axle flat bed. My two vehicles for it are a superformace cobra or a *****'s Jeep.
Both are under 3k. So I am going with a simple 24 inch extension. Keeping the tongue weight at 10%. It should easily work as it is rated 600 lbs. As is or 800 with a stabilizer
