I own a 78 f-100 I am a Canadian resident who is trying to do some suspension mods. Ican not get any parts in Can. to lower my truck. What I want to know is if I can swap my body onto an 83-86 frame ? Will the box,cab and front clip bolt on? If I can do this than I can order front suspension parts to lower my truck from any local hot rod shop.That would make me

 

Your 78 body will not bolt up to an 83+ truck. It would be so very difficult to transfer all that over, tons of fabbing, the wheelbases would also be different. If you want to lower your truck I would flip the rear axle and "c" notch the frame. I would then take your truck to a heavy truck shop and have them install shorter springs and then have them bend your i beams to compensate for the camber. I know a guy who did this and it turned out to be pretty cheap...and not a big hassle of changing a body over.
