Rear Bump Stop Bushing

Getting ready to have my frame blasted so removing anything I can.
I removed the two bump stops for the rear axle and have been looking to replace them.
Part # E3TA-4002-AA which interchanges now to E3TZ-4730-A

All of the measurements of the new number match but from what I can tell via photos, it doesn't have the bushing mine has for a tight fit in the bracket.

It doesn't appear that the bushing comes apart but I am wondering if it's just a matter of cutting it off at the base and slipping it over the bolt on the new one.

Anyone ever come across this before?

I cut the rubber off to see how the bolt was attached:

Never messed with those before, but cutting it off sounds like a good solution.

ID engineering # E3TA-4002-AA which cross references to Ford part # E3TZ-4730-A
No Ford part numbers marked on parts after 1956, just casting or ID engineering numbers, when applicable.

E3TZ-4730-A .. Rear Axle Bumper-Includes (1) swaged bolt - 2 1/8" long / Marked with ID number: E3TA-4002-AA / Obsolete ~ 88+ available NOS

I'd say you have an uphill battle on those semantics.
Pretty sure the second section is technically a part number

Uh huh...
The Ford part number is E3TZ-4730-A .. The Ford ID engineering number is E3TA-4002-AA

I've been looking up Ford part numbers in parts catalogs since 1962, so I know what the hell I'm talking about.

MO is the "show me" state, but my computer crashed recently, so at this time I cannot post pics. But if I could, I'd post this:

1980/89 Ford Light Truck Parts Catalog, Text-Section 46, page 2 where both these numbers are listed.

Both Gary & Chris can post pics, so if either reads this post, maybe one will.

I always thought the second section (4002) was the part number and that it was ok to use them interchangeably on this forum. But hey, wouldn't be the first or last time I was wrong.

I'll try to remember the correct term in the future.

Turns out the bushing is a separate piece.
The first one I cut apart at the base but couldn't tell if the bushing had threads or not as using a punch wasn't working.
Figuring that I could always turn something or find some thick-walled pipe that would work I put the other side's bumper between a hammer and an anvil. Didn't take too many whacks on the bushing while rotating it to see a gap appear at the base. A few more and I could twist it around and then off the bolt.

On to the next mystery.
