When I took the bed off my super camper special I wasn't being very smart and cut the bolts. I was then left with seized studs in these clip type captive nuts. I need these nuts due to lack of clearance over the rear tank. If I had to I could weld the nuts to the inner frame but don't really dig that idea. Anyone know where I can possibly get the nuts. Here is a pic.
Thanks number dummy, I realized I fat fingered it after I submitted it. I out it there too but left it here since they may have been used then as well.
Did the heads of those bolts have a Phillips slot in them? My '71 had a Phillips on the bolt over the auxiliary tank. The rest of the bolts were just carriage bolts with compression locknuts. But the cheap chrome plating had rusted off years ago so I had to cut the bolt. None of my '72, four of them now, had the Phillips. They were all carriage bolts with locknuts.
My 69 camper special also has the left front bed bolt with a phillips head on it. I suppose the reason is that the auxiliary tank doesn't give you any room to put a wrench on the nut so you have to tighten it from the top.
