brake drums

I'm trying to get my front drums off. But can't. Do I have to remove the bearings. To get it off or is their anything else I can do tried everything

The little brake assembly holding pins may have come loose from the rear of the drum...it throws the brake assembly inside out of wack and makes it a real bear to get off...it took me a while of working to get mine free.

I found that someone had riveted my right front drum on. I had to grind off the rivet and then the drum removed. I have also seen the brakes being adjusted out too far causing this symptom. The drums are not attached with the front bearings.

If they are original the studs are probably "swedged", mating the drum to the hub. In this case, yes, removing the bearings is the easiest way.

I ended up removing the spindle nut and hub bearings came rite off that way couldn't get the drum off any other way
