So when they "rebuild" it...are they replacing the timer?

Hey RLA, sounds like I'm pulling the computer and sending it back to them. It's actually cardone that is rebuilding it, so I'm going to talk to their tech department directly and explain the issue so they can look specifically for that.
Last question though...is there any possibility a failed TPS could cause any of this. If it has failed and is reading WOT, then it will not send fuel to the injectors, correct? Which is one thing that's happening.
I'm also curious if there could be a bad connection in the harness somewhere, because I went out yesterday and it fired up. Today it did not...very intermittent.

A TPS output indicating Wide Open Throttle (WOT) will not trigger the computer to keep the fuel pump relay continuously energized.

Yes it would prevent the injectors from triggering. There would also be a code displayed for the high TPS output in the KOEO tests. Easy enough to confirm the theory. Unplug the TPS.

So now I have another quandary...when I got home yesterday and it was still warm outside, she fired right up. I tried again at 5:30 this morning and it was 34 degrees outside and it wouldn't start (did the same thing it always does). I just got home and it's warm outside and she fired up again...looking like it first like the cold...still sound like a computer issue? Or possibly a connection somewhere else?

The crystal is heavy and has broken loose from the board before and has caused an intermittent running of the clock circuit.
So you might look closely at the solder joints of the crystal.
Bad crystals will do this also.

The crystal oscillator clock circuit, the crystal is Y1 in the circuit below and the silver component laying on it's side in Randy A's photo above :

Just to confirm, have I identified the correct component as the oscillator clock unit? If so, is that a part I can order and replace myself? Or is that not an item that can be purchased?

You could try to source one from a real electronic part supply house with zero guarantee that will fix your issue. You mentioned Cardone previously. That's a four letter word in my garage.

Cut your losses and either send the PCM to a real repair house or source a remanufactured one from a different vendor.

I was originally trying to buy a reman'd one (once I found out I couldn't get a new one). And Napa was the only place I could find that would send mine off to get it rebuilt, and I found out a couple days ago that they send it to cardone. And that's all I've been able to find. Recommendations on other companies to send it to? or where I can get a reman'd one that will work in my truck that is not cardone? I could google my little *** off, but if you already have experience with any, and trust them, that would be preferred.

Thank you!

The clock is inside the black square, you are pointing at the crystal for the oscillator inside the big black chip.
I have bought crystals from a place that grinds them to the frequency you want but that was back in the CB days (1970's).

You can but I would think it be more of a bad solder joint around one of the legs of the crystal and the crystal is OK.

I've searched and searched for that and can't find any. Everywhere says they are out of stock. Next thought?

I'd love the link if you can find it again. Everything I have found says "out of stock" including what I found on Amazon.

Yes that is correct but the big black square is the CPU and does a lot more things than just housing the oscillator.

It controls everything the EEC Computer does for the truck, in a way you could call the CPU the computer for the truck. Everything else on the board is just the interface between the CPU and the truck other than the one chip that has the tape over it and it contains the program the CPU runs on.
