New noise

2007 explorer makes a grinding sound I feel in the gas pedal upon exceleration
Also hesitates when exceleration on highwayAny ideas

are you saying it only GRINDS when you push the gas pedal ? Most GRINDING is due to rotation of 1 or 2 parts and should hear a noise when you are moving, throttle or not.

The hesitation could be several things, bad coil, bad plug, etc... are you sure what you feel in the pedal is a GRINDING and not just a vibration or miss due to bad coil or other ?

Can you describe the sound a bit better? Is it more like a rapid tapping noise? Is your check engine light on?
