Hot starting problem

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 04-Dec-01 AT 09:57 PM (EST)]I own a 1987 F150 XLT 4x4. When engine (5.0/302 auto) warms up (20 miles +-) if cut off it will not restart until engine cools down. Sounds like battery is weak but starter will turn over slooowwww. I have replaced the alt, starter (2x's), both battery leads and starter cable from silonoid. It has been to several mechanics but can't seem to find the problem? Cold starting does not ever present a problems. Battery checked fine according to my local Auto Zone rep? When engine is in this warm mode I have noticed the "Engine Light" on inside dash will come on when idling at stoplight but immediately goes off when accelerating away from light. The truck has high miles 200K but body is still in great shape. Any suggestion or has anyone experienced a similar problem?

Have you replaced the solenoid? I think you should, I thought I remember someone had this problem, changed the solenoid and fixed it. But I’m not sure.
Get a new one at AutoZone they are cheap.
