Having trouble with convincing my dealer this is not residual oil from the truck being built in November, I have 5500 miles on it now. I have a call into the regional manager now after 5 visits and one new seal.
I dunno Keith, it looks pretty normal to me. I don't think I've ever had a vehicle that didn't sling a little oil from the output shaft, onto the bottom of the body. Especially those that have a slip yoke in the cone. Unless it drips on the driveway, or at least leave a trail down the transfer case, I don't think you're going to get anywhere.
Good thing to just lodge an issue, so you get it in the records. And if it gets worse you can say you told them so.

I have wiped it off before it drips the exhaust usually catches it and cooks it before it drips also. Ant it isn't a slip shaft the Yoke has a securing nut holding into the T-case.
that was after they replaced the seal. The video was on the LH side, only place to mount the gopro, the drip in on the rh side above the exhaust you can see the silicone just above the driveshaft on the first picture. Iam looking to see if there is a vent, like on the differentials to see if it may be plugged. And after a round trip to pickup wife from work, the video was only one way about 23 miles.
Since Wray Brothers in Van Nuys is no longer in business, could this be the dealer on Roscoe?
Galpin was the last one, Simi Ford did the seal replacement, supposedly, but when he used silicone to try and fix it I didn't go back, the technician at Galpin said it is just residual. The service writer said to drive it till it runs out of oil and fails, after all it is under warranty. Now I have a call into the regional manager. No one has told me it is normal.

Yeah, and that's the mindset of those guys...who care's, we don't. So they fix the problem when it becomes a problem, but who pays for and fixes the other problems that it caused later down the road? We do.
