While in the process of changing the spark plugs I tore one of the coil boots in half removing it from plug. so instead of just changing one i figured i'd just change them all out got them all for around 48 bucks they came with new resistors and springs.
Ok now for my problem 4 out of the 8 coils wont hold the resistor properly to line up with the spring it looks as if the fins that keep everything centered are either burnt off or had just broke away. i need to come up with a way to keep them centered any advice?? I fear i might have to buy 4 new ones.
I tried cutting a piece of gasket and drilling a hole just big enough for the resistor but that didn't quite work.
I hope everyone that has done there own plug replacement has inspected their resistors as you can see mine were very corroded. also my truck has 92k miles

I know this is an old thread, GrainHauler - did you find a way to center the resistors in those coils, or did you just replace them? I did mine last night - and out of the 8 coils - I only had three that the resistor would sit properly after cleaning them up - massive corrosion at 120k miles. Looks like I'll be replacing all the coils - if I'm going to replace 5, I might as well replace 8 and be done with it.
Massive corrosion encountered replacing coil boots on a 2012 6.2L.
Heat shrink connecting them together - working so far. The fins were in some cases "gone" where they should hold the resistor. I might go back in and double up on the heat shrink.
