Rear Brake's/Cruise Control

Hi Team,

MY rear brakes were non existent. I ordered new drums and shoes, and brought it to a shop to have them put it on. Prior to the work my Cruise Control operated fine. Other than needing to push the buttons forcefully to get them to engage. But once engaged it stayed working.

After the brakes were done, the cruise control will only work a short time before shutting off. Is there some sort of brake sensor that could have been effected in the rear drums? One time I noticed my e-brake light come on as the CC shut off. Don't know if that has something to do with it. (e-brake light won't always come on however)

Thoughts?

Whenever the brake failure warning light comes on, FIRST thing to check is the hydraulics. Esp. since the brakes were just worked on. Did they bleed the hydraulics, by any chance?

As said, it could also be simply that the parking brake pedal isn't fully returning. Do you feel a lot of slack in the parking brake cable? Does the pedal snap up pretty firmly when you release the parking brake?

Does the speedometer work normally? Do ALL brake lights work, including the center stop light in the cab roof?

I'll check all of that when I head out for lunch today. I forgot about the cab light!! Appreciate the reminders. Not sure if they bled the hydraulics. Truck stops great, much improvement over when I brought it in, but I can check on all that. I figured it was something to do with the eBrake cable since it was never working before.
