I figure this has been discussed many times, but I got some new wiper refills for my truck(1973 F-100) from Advance Auto. They had to order them of coarse.Part # is 5070120,Mfg # 43-150 Trico,$4.95.They are 15" long. This is just the refills so you can keep your original arms.

Geez, I didn't realize what a PITA it is to get replacement wipers for our trucks. I found a part that fits the bayonet style mount directly from O'Riellys... Rainguard, engineered by Trico, is a brand of wiper blades that include a direct fit mount for the Ford bayonet. $10 for 2! Might not be what's needed for a dedicated winter driving rig or something, but it will suffice in southern Arizona.

Back like 15 years ago or more, I wanted to change the blades on my '68 Cougar. And I knew of a blade refill where you could separate just the rubber blade itself from the rest of its assembly, and right into the original entire wiper arm assembly on the Cougar - which was basically the same as a Dentside.
So that wiper blade assembly could be used on a newer car, or you could use just the blade itself on an older car.
The fifty-something guy at Autozone swore it wouldn't work, and that he didn't have any blades which would. Those blades went right in, and even locked down. I think I even went back in and showed him.

Whatever brand of wiper blades those were, they were apparently dual-purpose, and nobody at Autozone knew that.

I miss the days when you could just buy the refills...all the metal/plastic part they make you buy now is reusable. More waste in the name of profit margins, I guess. Or to pamper the folks who couldn't figure out how to change just the blade.

Autozone has Duralast wipers that fit our dentsides with 0 issues. I have some on mine now. They had 10 or so in stock when I got mine. Not very hard to find at all.

Wiper blades and refills.

On another site I stumbled across the fact the wiper arms from a 1990 Jeep Cherokee have the same knurled end on them as our trucks. The arm is a little longer but it has the pin type mount for the blade. Easier to find blades and great for replacing the weak springs from our 40 year old trucks.

Resurrecting this old thread. The mid '90s Cherokee arms have the standard "J" hook ends. They're slightly longer than the "dent" arms. I trimmed about 1/4" off the new blades and they work perfectly. No need to special order wiper blades, anymore.

Used to go into any gas station and they would have the little cabinet, Anco/Trico. Would be full of refills. No one bought anything other than a refill, no need wiper arms were stainless.

I got tired of looking for wipers, seeing them flop back and forth during use, and then watching one fly off during a storm. I got a pair of arms off a late model junk car, cut the J-hooks off, and TIG welded onto my dent's original arms. Now I can use any blade off the shelf, no wobble, and they stay put.

Trico from Oriellys is the only ones that fit my truck so far, other ones fall right off

Excellent idea. The "straight arm" was always a bad design

Easy too. If you don’t have a TIG welder, a shop will do it for a few bucks
