PCV...OMG, WTF??

Has anyone seen a PCV valve fail like this before? The mystery of my truck's sudden poor running has been solved.

Never seen that before. Pull the valve cover and fish out the spring and plate. Inspect valves/rockers/valve springs for damage.

If you have the factory valve covers with the proper oil baffles, the baffle probably kept the parts from going into the engine.

I do, and it does...at least if my memory from the last time I was in there a few years ago is correct.

Fortunately, the replacement piece is made of metal, so hopefully I won't have this particular failure again in the future.
