4.6 oil analysis-trend

Here is a major oil companies 10/30 synthetic. I post this to show the benefits of a PAO/Ester based formulation without a bunch of additives like moly to help out the conventional oils shortcomings.

And NO :G it's not Amsoil ! he he!

4.6 Crown Victoria - 7900 miles w/15% city driving ambient temps over 100 f - Motorcraft filter

wear metals

Iron 5
Lead 1
copper 11
silicone 5- dirt and antifoam

all other metals were trace elements only

Additives

Boron 18
Magnesium 64
Zinc 894
Phos 884
Calcium 2294

VI @ 100c 10.9 " thickened .4 from new"
Oxidation 24
Fuel .05
TBN 7 still had alot of life

Another oil right after this run

10/30 Synthetic blend- 100% hiway with 70f ambient
miles were put on in less than two weeks -all 3600 of them

Motorcraft filter

Iron 13
Copper 3
Aluminum 2
Chromium 1
Silicone 10

additives
Moly 93- probably started w/ 150 ppm or so
Magnesium 45
Zinc 911
Phos 774
Calcium 1960

Oxidation 37 ! Ugly
Fuel .05
TBN 3- uglier !

Same Lab

This is IMO a 3 month-3k oil in normal usage and was 3 bucks a quart !

Now here is what I'm using now at recommendation from a friend.
It is a new 0/30 synthetic available . This sample was drawn @ 5800 miles and is still in service . 25 % city or therabouts mixed driving
Different Lab and the oil is only 4.25 a quart. I will use this in all vehicles now in all probability excepting the old ones

And NO! It's not Amsoil !

Iron 4
Chromium 0
Nickel >1 trace amount
Aluminum 3
Lead 1
Copper 11
Tin >1 trace amount
Silver > 1 trace amount
Titanium >1 trace amount
Silicon 7
Potassium >1 trace amount
Barium >1 trace amount
Molybedenum 3
Boron 248
Magnesium 236
Calcium 3610
Phosphorous 1014
Zinc 1171
Viscosity @ 100C was a stable 10.1
TBN - 10 ! Starting TBN is 17 and is a SL oil-not a Fleet oil either!
Fuel < 1.0

My 1.33 per quart Motorcraft analysis is posted here somewhere for comparison to these oils- it rocks! But not like that 0/30

Is there a reason you're being secretive about the brands?

Of course everyone will be curious about the brands, but I'm wondering if what is really important here, is the fact that these oils were run on 75% to 100% highway miles.
