7.0 Super Duty engine confirmed for 2019
I was talking to a school maintenance supervisor and he said there are some schools going to LPG or natural gas powered buses.. Power solutions makes a 8.8l that makes its power down low in Rpms. Not great horsepower but torque is there at 1500 rpms 535lbft.
Ya'll are killing me. LOLz. I had to sign up just because of this thread and the other one. You don't want one. This is the Global World engine. It'll be a 7.3L gasoline V8 engine to replace the V10. It's for Fleets that can't afford diesel downtime, risk of diesel repair costs, and don't usually log tons of highway miles. It's for F550's owned by lawn care companies that can't keep the diesel happy, because they never ever get on the highway. It's for local DOT and cities. Uhaul, motorhomes, etc. etc. Big gas engines are excellent in europe and mexico, nearly all the Ford work trucks you see in other countries are local use trucks, not over the highway.
The 6.2L will be superior for all F250's, and most everyone in this thread with an F350. If you tow and haul every single day, or own a dump truck that's only for local use, it's a great engine for you. It's not for a daily driver that tows a 25' travel trailer 3 times a year. The 6.2 is far superior for that.
Towing and hauling engines need a low BMEP to survive. An Ecoboost type engine would never survive under the hood of a Super Duty pulling 13,000 pounds. Power #'s aren't everything, you have to watch your EGT's. I'm confident in saying that the Global Engine will tow better than the 6.2L. But it won't be faster unloaded. Think of the wheezy GM 8.1L and 8.8L trucks you've driven. It'll be better than those, but not zippy like the 6.2L. This is the absolutely last engine you'd want to put in a Raptor. LOL.
Fleets are dropping diesels rapidly. Diesels only make sense in DRW F350's or bigger fleet trucks. Any fleet SRW truck is better off with a gas engine regarldess of towing or highway mileage. My F350 weighs 10,000 pounds and tows 7000 regularly with a 6.2L. Our 550's are all diesel. But we might try the Global Engine, if we're still Ford. My branch is under pressure to switch back to GM because a few 6.2L's blew up.
It's going to be a good engine. You can forgive yourself for wanting one, but the 6.2L is most likely best for you.

Talked with one of the guys I know at my local dealership. 2019 gas powered super duties are slated to have the 7x motor moving forward from the 6.2 as it doesn't meet the new 2020 emissions level for class. From what he told me it looks to be a 4v double plug ignition.
