Grill Restoration
I tried a search but was not specific enough to find good info I guess. Is there a good step by step description to restore a 78-79 Grill surround? Any success or failure stories. Thanks for your help!

I have been working on a 73_77 grill shell on and off for a while. I found some posts on it.If I remember correctly there is how to post on the technical links on the top of the forum page. I started by removing all the clear anodized paint which was a pain. Then tig welded all the cracks and polished them smooth. Then used a polishing pad we use to polish the inside of the stainless steel tanks we repair at work and polished the entire shell with that. Then I bought a aluminum polish kit from eBay and have been polishing the shell off and on when I have nothing else to do.it's time consuming but kinda fun

Stubbfarmer do you see the blue line with User CP, Albums, FAQ? See the SEARCH on that line? It has a drop down search menu arrow, go to the "Advanced Search" option, top left side (search block) type in there what you are looking for and then go to the lower right column and highlight 73-79 forum. Select it and then you will have a detailed search just in the 73-79 forums.
