Any of you guys know what make this hoist is? Seen several on 40's trucks, probably not Garr-Wood or Galion. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks guys.

It's hard to tell from the picture, any chance of getting a few more pictures from other angles ?I agree it looks like a wood hoist ,but standard hoists also look like that from the side .

It it's non-hydraulic, it could be a Van Dorn jack screw lift.

It is a hydraulic ram with gear box at the bottom. Run from pto on the transmission.

Is there a hydraulic oil reservoir somewhere? Hydraulic valves? If there is a gearbox on the bottom and it's driven by the PTO, and not a pump driven by the PTO, AND it is still hydraulically actuated, it's the only hydraulic cylinder I've heard of that has an integral pump and reservoir. I think it's a Van Dorn. Pics of the underside will confirm.
