I opted for the mishimoto like that I didn't have to move the reservoir.

It was a little bit of a pain to pop in, but once all the boots where close to the correct locations it was easy to adjust for clearances. After reading about these exploding then feeling how flexible the plastic one is, didn't take much to make the decision.

Thanks for the heads up Joel. Guess I'll pony up the extra $50 for H&S.

I just read a review on Amazon where a buyer of the Mishimoto had the same issue as Joel's.

I have about 500 in town and 50 towing, checked for oil on the bottom side and is all clean. Could be relatively young o-ring and able to seal as it hasn't been baked into a square? I have 4700mi as of yesterday. Be nice if they simply included one. I bought it for the formed fit as wasn't comfortable just hanging the reservoir.

I initially wrote H&S off because they don't include a new o ring. IMO for $350 they should. But since replacement is to reduce headaches, I'll just buy a new o ring from Ford (to go with the H&S) and call it a day I guess.

The review on the Mishimoto I read, the guy tried a new OE O-ring before posting.

I'll keep this in mind for the future failures that people report!

It it my opinion as well that it should have a supplied O-ring. On that note, I wonder if people are 'rolling' the o-ring when it is slid into position?? I'm sure Joel would have noticed damage to his though when he took it back off.

The AFE kit does come with a new O ring and it does have a place where it seats. My problem was, and I noticed it instantly but decided to just try it, was that the tolerance was too loose. When I did a test fit it was so loose I thought I was doing something wrong. Took me a while to decide that I was installing it correctly.

I really think they just allowed for too much slop. All it took was 1 layer of paper to snug it up so it's very close.

Where do you carry the spare at? Bed box? Seems too big for under or behind the seat. Maybe I just have too much already...
