Truck has new air filter, I'll check the fuel filter, does this truck have the pick-up screens in the fuel tank? How do i check to tell if the DPF is plugged?
The truck has 2 fuel filters, one on top of the motor, the other on the frame rail under the drivers door. Use Motorcraft. If you've never changed them, they probably need it. Also, you MUST turn the key on but don't start it at least 6 times to get the air out of the system after you change the filters. Turn the key on, listen for the pump to run, after about 30 seconds or so, it'll shut off. Turn the key off and turn it back on, do the same thing. Repeat it at least 6 times, 10 would be better. Failure to do this will put air into the injection system, and then you'll have a whole lot of fun trying to get it to start.
As for a plugged DPF, one sign of an issue is if the truck goes into regen a lot more than it should. Also, if you have a monitor, you can set it to read the Exhaust Back Pressure. If it reads much over what the turbo boost is, that may be a problem.
Can you pop the hood and grab the rod that you see among the turbos? With the truck shut off, you should be able to move it back and forth. It will have a little resistance, but it's suppose to move. Or, when you turn the ignition on, you should be able to see that rod move back and forth one time before you start it.
