Hey guys,
I have a 97 f250hd, 8800gvw, with a 5.8l gas, auto trans. VIN 1FTHX26H7VEA48029
Yesterday the trans started acting up. Would shift from first to second fine and then shift no further. Speedo quit working when this happened and ABS light comes and goes. 45 seconds later, after slowing down, the trans shifted fine and speedo started working again. Would this be the VSS? All fuses are good.
Also, i recently put a flat bed on the truck with after market tail/brake lights. However, the oem plug that feeds the back lights has 8 wires coming out of it and it has been cut off. Wire colors are orange with blue tracer, black with purple tracer, white with pink tracer, white, green, black, brown, and green with orange tracer. Could not locate a wiring harness with an 8 wire plug from salvage yard. They only have 5 wire. I have hard wired the lights using 5 of these wires but with the key in the on position, truck not running and headlights off, the tail lights are lit up. No idea what the other 3 wires are for. Also, a few days ago, was driving the truck and lost the instrument panel lights and side marker lights. All other lights are working. Any ideas?
