I bought a 1995 F150 Eddie Bauer yesterday. It is running really well and I'm really happy with it.
The engine doesn't seem to warm up all the way, though, based on the gauge. The needle doesn't get past the N in normal. I guess the N is still normal, but I'm wondering if I should look at the thermostat, or let sleeping dogs lie?
these gauges are not overly accurate.
if you see the gauge dropping at highway speeds, that could indicate that the thermostat is stuck open. if it is moving from dead cold to the "N" and remaining steady, it's probably just fine.
