need help with seat replacement
I need to find a much softer seat for the passenger side of my '04 Escape. My wife's arthritis is getting gradually worse and the original seat is just too hard for her. We've been getting along with pillows, etc., but, basically, I just need a better seat. Any suggestions? I don't mind doing some fabrication on mountings, tracks, etc. if someone knows a seat from another vehicle that might be a close fit.

I don't think you can do this easily - there are normally airbags in the seats these days and modification of those systems has huge implications and/or is illegal in many jurisdictions.
I'd suggest you talk to a disability vehicle modifier, they likely have dealt with this sort of issue and its implications before and will be able to guide you.
