I'm concerned about my transmission 105,000 miles just changed fluid 5,000 miles ago. The plug from the dipstick was still in the pan from the factory. At start up it slips between 1st and 2nd only when really cold(winter), when warm it jerks between gears moderately, when going into overdrive it clunks. I hear a high pitch noise that increases when i give it gas and at idle there is a rattlinging clunking noise(from transmission area). Fluid looks pinkish red and smells sweet, I checked the tv cable pressure and it is within specs.
should I be concerned? the rattling clunking noise is new and provoked me to write this.
Does anyone know a lot about AOD transmissons is there any way to test if the pump is bad or torque converter or if there is damage to clutches/ gears that i should just rebuild it?
My plan is to drop the pan and check the filter first but if anyone wants to share some wisdom I would appreciate it.
