I have a 73 F250. It recently threw a rod and crumpled the half bracket that attaches to piston. My question is should I tear down and fix just the one rod and piston OR should I upgrade to 390?? If so what exact parts would I need? From what I've read I'll need new crank and rods? Do I also need new pistons?? Please help, any advice is appreciated. Also would I be better of going to junk yard, buying 390 block and transferring old parts onto it. Manifold, carb ect. Thanks
The good news Chris is there is a ton of info on converting to a 390, some one in the FE forum is doing it monthly, gotta buckle in and start reading until you feel comfortable with it.......
