So I'm looking at a new SD trying to decide between two trucks at different dealers. Both trucks are XL SuperCabs, 4x4, LB, 6.2 gassers, cruise, air, pwr windows locks mirrors, washout floors
1st truck: F250 at dealer A w 17" tires, $37k
2nd truck: F350 at dealer B it's an STX package 18" wheels, trailer brake control, skid plates, running boards, fancy lights in bed. $40k and dealer will throw in a spray in liner. This dealer is also offering FREE LIFETIME PWR TRAIN WARRANTY which we got on my wife's Flex we bought off them in December. Huge plus!
My questions are:
1: for those who have a 17 w a 6.2 are you happy with it's ability thus far? ( I've previously had an 08 v10, 04 6.0 and 2 OBS w 351 and 460)
2: How are the aluminum beds holding up under dumping loads of gravel wood materials in general?
3: Any reason to look into a leftover 16 model over a 17?
I'm really leaning towards the F350 at this point.
To me that's a no brainer. The F350 has the capability for if you ever need it and will hold more value than the 3/4 ton. Bigger wheels, brake controller, bed liner, running boards etc etc AND lifetime powertrain warranty? Why isn't it already in your driveway? lol
Are you leasing or buying? Borrowing lots? Figure out what the payment difference is between the 2. You'll probably be surprised how little difference there is.

How much can you save on a 2016? I would favor the 350, which one has the 4.30 gear?
I'll be purchasing the truck, neither has 430 gears. Dealer A is asking 37k for the 2016 it is an xlt truck. I'm going to look at it today but so far really high on the 17s
Go with the Lifetime warranty truck, you won't regret it when it need something major. I wish my Ford dealer offered a Lifetime warranty, but I settled for the Ford ESP 1000+.
