Forscan

Is forscan safe to use in conjunction with the Ezlynk tuner? I plan to run the ezlynk but also noticed some things I would like to change with forscan and want to make sure there isn't a conflict there. Also is forscan pretty safe to use? I have read up on the parts needed and the general idea. Just want to make sure it is safe for a newb to use and won't run the potential of causing any issues. Thanks.

Do you have to use a Bluetooth obd2 reader or can it be wired with a USB to a laptop?

I have not bought the bluetooth OBD II reader yet. The Ezlynk stays plugged into he OBD II port all the time for data logging and displays gauges on my iPad. I could unplug the when I use the bluetooth OBDII device for Forscan. I don't have to leave the OBD II reader plugged in all the time right? Just when I am making the changes with my laptop?

I too have this question regarding the ezlink however concerning the Amp power steps which now is the OBD2 port to operate.

Does either Amp or EZLink offer a pass through OBD2 connection?

Additionally, is the ezlink required to be plugged in at all times in order for the tune to work correctly? I doubt it but, just making sure.

They do make OBD II splitters. The Ezlynk will data log and show gauges through the splitter, but cant tune through the splitter, gotta plug straight in to tune from what I hear. No you don't need to leave the Ezlynk plugged in after you tune. Just need to leave it plugged in if you use the gauges like I do.

The BT OBDII used for FORscan does NOT need to stay in. Make your changes and take it out. However it does work with other programs like TORQUE, which also has most gages you would ever want, can show and clear codes, etc. Just more options.
