Rear dome light

Rear dome light
The lens in my far rear dome light has a small crack in it. I was trying to find a new one, but so far, no luck. I've found a few used ones on Ebay for the Expedition, but none so far for the Excursion. Did the Expedition (99-02) have the same housing for the rear dome light as the Excursion? It looks the same, but I don't know if the dimensions are the same.

As usual...
I'm a day late and a dollar short. Mine is gray, but, I really only need the lens, so the housing color wouldn't matter to me. I found one for an Expedition fairly cheap on Ebay and bought it. I'll report back regarding fitment when I receive it.

Thanks
I know what you mean. I wish there were some close by to me. The closest yard to me that has any Excursions is about an hour and fifteen minutes away. Not a horrible drive, but not one I want to make every time I want a part. Plus, they don't typically let you pick yourself. I like the places that let you get your own parts in case I see something else I may want or hadn't thought of until I saw it.

It fits
The good news is that the rear dome light in the Expedition is the same as in the Excursion, so if you ever need one the Expedition one is interchangeable. The bad news is that the one I got is better than the one I have, but it still has some melting from the heat of the light. Not as bad as mine was and it isn't cracked like mine. Mike, if you make a run to the Gold Mine sometime in the future, I'd be interested in the one you saw there if it's not melted/cracked at all. Don't make a special trip, though.
BTW, mine won't melt anymore since I switched everything over to LED (Sylvania ZEVO), which brings me to the front map lights. I was able to fit 921 LED bulbs in there (the Sylvania ZEVO, I don't know about others) and it's much brighter than the 194s. So, if you don't want to mod your overhead lights, you can still get brighter ones that fit in the original sockets. Speaking of which, instead of using the original Ford sockets, I used a couple of 194 sockets from an F-body dash and they fit perfectly. So, if you don't want to take your old ones apart or buy the 579s, you can pick up a couple of sockets out of a 70s model Camaro/Firebird dash and use those.
