So I recently bought an 86 F-150 with the 4.9 and while running it after I changed the coil I saw this part spark. Does anyone know what this plug is for? Thanks in advance!
Can you post a picture from a few feet back. It's hard to tell where that plug is located on the engine harness from the close-up picture you provided.
Looks like the outer part of the plug's jacket is broken (cut) off.
Does it have 12V on one of the terminals with key-On?

It does look like it could be for the IGN module with the outer part broken off but because it is so close we cant tell what it could be to.

The blue connector at the bottom right corner is A ScotchLock or suitcase connector. That is definitely aftermarket. I can't tell if the mystery black connector is factory and the ScotchLock was used to connect something else to that circuit. On the other hand, the black connector could also be aftermarket and was tapped into a nearby factory circuit.
More pics would help.

I will post up some more pics later. I did replace the clutch master cylinder today and even though it was tedious I made my own master cylinder reinforcement plate.
