I have the 460 in 90 f250hd and running straight pipes into stacks in the bed. My question is about the two lines that connected to the converter. Im sure one is the return for mixture, and wondering if there is something special im supposed to do with these lines?
They are metal hoses about 3/4 to an inch. I think I'll just cut and weld them back on top of the straight pipe. Dont want to end up with a vacume leak, even though its most likely for hot air mixture via emitions/egr, and I'm not sure why they are so far back on exhaust instead of conected to the header. I appriciate the reply and I think I got this.lol. Famous last words.
No they aren't. They are for fresh air from the air pump to help clean up the emissions. They are not egr related.
Ok. Good thing im in CA and the emission laws are so lax.lol. I think im going to have to put glass packs/cherry bombs on the end to avoid getting pulled over for being toooooooo loud.
So the truck is for off road only? How are you going to pass the visual inspection in California without the catalytic converter and air injection system functioning? Over on a Jeep forum there are stories of their 30+ year old Jeeps failing inspection because of visual inspection even though it passes the tailpipe test.
