Im having a problem with my electronic transfer case. There is a long story behind it, but i dont know what it is. This case was in the 4wd parts truck that i bought. When i first got my 87 it was 2wd and i swapped every thing in that i needed. Regular 4wd on the case works perfectly, but Low Range just flashes at me, and i was wondering if anyone knows anything about it.
I'd check the shift mechanism on the T case and see what it does when you move the in cab switch. Or hook the wiring at the T case up to a jumper wire and see if it moves, if not its probably bad. You could possibly have a grounded wire, bad in cab switch, or something phisically enabling the shift from happening weather it be some kind of debris, or something broken. Thats all I can think of off hand. Probably won't help but I tried.
Electric t-cases are crap....the motors go out all the time...swap to a manual. I can tell yuo how and all that's needed....I also have the parts......I had the same problem, but it's fixed now!!

There is a transfer case speed sensor on the back of the case. Mine "opened up" and gave the exact symptom you describe. About $70 from the dealer.
