Wanted a 4x4 fleet side with less miles. It had 370000 but is a 7.3 powerstroke that has been very well taken care of. This is two wheel drive. Pictures attached. Is it worth a little over four grand and could I get what I spent back out of it? Need a truck pretty quick and don't want a half ton.
Condition drives price. IF everything is in good order 4500 is a good price. But 370k are a lot of miles. Does he have any maintenance records? With an aux tank in the bed, I wonder how heavy he was towing.
Most likely won't do anything with this truck. I do have an appointment with the loan office this morning so I'll ask him what he thinks about a new to me truck. Probably won't be this one though. Too short of notice I think.
So two questions here. One, how difficult compared to the early and late 90s trucks is it to work on early 2000s 7.3 Powerstrokes. I want to stay with something i can do the majority of the work on so its not so expensive.
And two, I've always like long box trucks but I've got my search down to two pickups. One is a 2000 lariat that needs a new box, 8 foot. The other is a 2000 lariat that has four full doors but a 6 and a half foot box. New box not needed at this time. Just looking for opinions. Thanks.
I also had a 99. The engine sets a little further back in the engine compartment. This is not a big deal but a little harder to reach stuff for me. Other than that it was about the same. It will be quieter with split shots and mine had more power than my 94 when stock. You will have e-fuel which is a big + to me. If standard it will have 6 speed v 5speed old body style. Ride was a lot better. Looks not as good as the OBS. lol But nice.
