I have a 88' F-150 with a 94' 351w in it. Well I over heated really bad, then soon after that I noticed that there was a lot of water coming out of my exhaust and I had a lot of milky white oil on my dipstick. I was just wondering if it is just a blowen head gasket or a cracked head or a cracked block.
Most likely you just have the blown head gasket(s). These blocks are pretty strong, not too sure how strong the heads are but doubt there is damage. The only way to know is take the heads in for inspection when their off.
The same thing happened to my 88 F 250. I overheated her real bad, got the steam coming out of my exaust, and what looked like a milkshake on my dipstick and under the valve cover.Turned out that I had a cracked head . I've got a 300 inline 6, I hear they are more prone to cracked or warped heads when overheated. The moter had 300,000 miles on her so I dropped another 300 from an 89 van in as opposed to replacing the head. Hopefully yours being a 351 it is just the head gaskett. How many miles are on the motor?
