My friends 2006 Escape has the ( low pressure warning light) flashing
on for about 10 seconds after starting the engine.
All tires are at correct pressure.
I have no idea what is causing this, can anyone help?

If it only flashes on startup and not while driving, I would suspect a failing battery in one of the TPMS stems.
Another possibility would be the spare tire. Some systems include this frequently forgotten tire.
Hello,
Well I have more info for those that have this year\model...
2006 Ford Escape..
Each wheel including the spare have the TPS ( Tire pressure sensor)
It is inside the tire, so you can not get to it without removing the tire from the rim.
It does have a battery
The flashing light could even be caused by a low pressure in the spare, so keep that
It's also a system trouble warning
in mind.
At this point it is necessary to take the car into a dealer or tech...
but since I keep this car here and check the pressure reg. I'll put it off
Need any extra money for new front tires...

PS: Thanks for the assistance.
OK, Bill, just passing on what I read in both the owners manual and online...
It did state that "if the car came with a spare" don't forget this is 2006,
Federal law did not start until 2009 from my reading...
in either case one more reason the cost of repairs to cars is high...
Also you can not use after market "wheels" from what I read.
Thanks for the info...
Best
Dave
