2v 5.4 F250 exhaust help

Hey guys, I'm not exactly happy with the way my exhaust sounds. I am currently running a glass-pack with the exhaust dumped behind the rear axle (4 inch chrome rolled tip). It sounds good at idle and low rpm, but as soon as I go to accelerate, it gets high pitched and whiny. It almost sounds like the v10. What makes mad is that my friend has the exact same setup on his 99' silverado 5.3 vortec and it sounds amazing. I want a deep rumble, any suggestions? Should I get a high-flow cat? I have looked on youtube and all of the 2v 5.4 super dutys dont sound good, so whats up?

Remove your tailpipe and go for a test drive.

I had a buddy with a 3v 5.4 super duty, and it sounded really good. He had stock manifolds and stock catalytic converters. From both cats back, i think it was 2.5 inch pipe into dual flowmaster super 10 series mufflers and ran all the way out the back with 3.5 inch tips. It had a very deep tone/rumble to it, and was just the right amount of loud. He got an exhaust shop to do all of it, and it wasn't cheap, but man that truck sounded good.
