Just as a side not, so fram filters are defiantly no good? Ive got one on my pontiac but on my Ford and Chrysler Ive got wix and next change have a motorcraft there ready to go for the Ford.
Fram is JUNK!
For the price you paid for it, you could have bought a Motorcraft, better quality, for the same price.
If your curious, grab a Wix, Motorcraft, and Fram filter, all for the same application. Bet ya you'll notice a difference.

I have to agree. I used Fram filters on my OHV 4.0 Ranger and one day, after I changed the oil, it had a loud tick, nearly a knock when I hit the throttle.
It went away after a little while, but ever since, I've used Motorcraft FL-1A's on it & it's been quiet.
Lucas oil additive or Marvel Mystery Oil might be helpful. I haven't tried either. I use Rislone oil treatment every once in a while on my old trucks, I think it helped get rid of the light tick I was hearing occasionally.
Good Luck!
ok, no worries. thanks for the heads up. Ill toss out any remaining fram I have in the shed. Id only ever put the fram filters on my pontiac. My 300c and f150 have been wix so far and I bought some motorcraft for the next oil change on the f150.
