Weird ForScan behavior

So, finally got installed and connected last weekend...goal was to turn off the double horn honk which succeeded. Made the change, the computer said to turn the ignition off then back on, but it looked like the truck did it for me. It flashed the headlights and the cluster screen rebooted.

Everything seemed fine. Drove the truck that night and noticed something weird. I run my ambient lighting in the blue color. Everything was blue except in the driver's door it was red...like the door was open...but it wasn't. Opening then closing the door did nothing. Going to the ambient screen and switching to a different color changed everything except the driver's door. I gave up and kept driving. After about 15 minutes, the driver's door switched back to blue.

Very strange...the only things I messed with was the double honk and the regen screen.

Mine did the same thing, only I didn't even think about running Forscan being the problem. I did the double honk, tire pressure and steering wheel icon. I'm not sure if the door is still red though. This was a week ago.

What is the steering wheel icon?

My ambient lighting has never misbehaved except immediately after making the ForScan mod. I'm not sure if cycling the ambient lighting settings eventually fixed it or it just fixed itself. But it is OK now.

'Heated' Steering wheel icon, displaying if it is on or not.

I guess I'm still not sure what the mod does. I have the heated steering wheel, and there is an icon in the climate control screen. Additionally, when the wheel heater is on, a little icon displays on the top of the screen. What does the mod do differently?

Thanks

Is the double honk a deal only on push button start trucks? Mine has never done that.

From my understanding, it put's the steering wheel icon on the actual dash (productivity) screen. I skipped this one btw, so no realtime experience here.

I mainly wanted 2x honk disable and bambi mode, and when we can get access to the IPC module, temps above gauges.

Exactly. When the "smart" fob leaves the running truck and the door closes, the horn double honks to let you know you left the truck running without the key in it.

The mod puts the heated steering wheel icon on the home screen along with heated and cooled seat buttons. You don't have to open up the climate screen or anything, it is just displayed on home screen. Just one less step to turning on or off heated steering wheel. Nothing too fancy, just a tad easier.

Thanks. I think I'll do this. Makes it kind of like the old MyFord Touch which had these controls on the home screen. I much prefer hard buttons...but I'll take a little added convenience.

Reps about to be sent!

I seem to have lost the Auto Highbeam function after doing Bambi mode. Gonna mess around with it this weekend.

Interesting. I have auto wipers and beams turned off so I never noticed. If it's one or the other, I'll take bambi over auto any day. Never liked auto beams or wipers...
