Tailgate repairs
3-point seat belts are probably the next thing I should do, as I just replied in another thread, I have all the stuff and even put in lap belts as a placeholder last year; now it's time to do it right.
At the same time, I handed off my tailgate to a local guy who used to run an auto shop out of his own garage at his house; now he's retired and takes on side projects along with restoring a sizeable collection of interesting old Fords of his own. Next time I'm at his shop, I'll have to get some pictures, he's got some really neat stuff like a 1915 Model T snow machine.
Anyway, while my truck is largely solid, the tailgate was about to fall straight off, as you can see from the pictures. So he's working on that part right now while the truck is off the salty roads. When it comes out, I'll bring the truck to him and have him get the gate working nicely with the truck also. I'll have to get some paint to match the aged Lime Yellow, too!
I'm also hoping to have him weld up a receiver hitch under the rear bumper. it's PLENTY strong for anything I might want to tow, but right now there's no way to even put a ball on there - plus the bumper is way too high for that anyway.
Happy -almost- spring!
Gitty up or gette over.

John
It turned over 37k in my hands last year. There were some hard miles in there, to be sure, but a lot of this truck is totally original. As for the KEEP BACK I'm definitely keeping that on there if I can, it's part of the character.
Anyway, cheers!
