Whining noise after shutting down truck
Hi All,
I have a 2012 F250 SD with the 6.7 PSD. Can anyone tell me what the whining noise is that I hear after I shut the truck off? The sound is coming from the fuel tank area. Not sure if it is the fuel pump bleeding off to relieve pressure. Is this normal? Thanks for any help.

I'm wondering if it's the same thing that I've heard before. Has something to do with the brakes where if you hit the brake pedal after shutting the truck off, it makes that noise. It goes away eventually and doesn't affect anything (from what I remember reading). If you don't like it, you can either not touch the brakes after turning the truck off, or if you accidentally do, put the key back in and turn it to On, then turn it back off and the sound should go away.
Then again, where I hear the sound is from under the hood, so may be something completely different.
