F250 --- F350, what is the difference?
I'm in need of a new work truck. What are the differences between the two trucks other than tow and haul capabilities?
EDIT:
I guess I should have added, I'm looking at the single rear wheel models, 5.4, 4 speed auto, with 4WD and a tow package.
I just don't see much data difference between the two. I have two F150's now but as my company's needs increase, I know these trucks are not going to meet my needs.
Thanks

I have a 1999 F-150 equiped like you want. The only piece of advice I can give is get a rear ratio other that the stock 3.54. The only way I could get the the 3.73 was with the off road package, an additonal $1700. I haul a 16' enclosed trailer with a small dune buggy, and ATC 250R or CR250 a bed full of wood and 40 gallons of addditonal gas and sure could use a little more umph for some of the hills.

F-250 has a 2500lb payload capacity and F-350 have a 3500lb payload capacity. its just a general rating to compare apples to apples for example Chev 2500 to F-250. not much to compare there but ya know what i mean. another thing...get the new 6.0L diesel instead of the 5.4. the price tag is a bit higher but the 20mpg and huge towing capacity will pay for itself in no time

I think a diesel F350 will support your needs a lot better than an incremental trade up. Why buy another truck and find you need an even bigger one later?
You should find the mileage pretty much the same, a lot depends on the load itself.
The F350 is much stronger, solider, and safer truck in the long run. If you can get it now, I would say go for it!
NOTE: The used F250 I recently bought actually has an F350 suspension under it and dual wheel rear axle - there are a few exceptions out there. But I assume you intend to buy new.
